Thengai paal kanji is a porridge made with rice, fenugreek seeds (vendhayam/ methi seeds)☘️
This kanji is an excellent home remedy for ulcer also reduces blood pressure and helps in digestive problems.The healing effect of coconut and fenugreek does the wonder. It is a traditional healthy breakfast cuisine of Chettinad☘️
Rice can be substituted with any millets.
Ingredients
- Raw rice - 1/2 cup
- Garlic pods-10
- Fenugreek seed -2 teaspoon
- Coconut milk 2 cups
- Water 5 cups
Pressure cook the rice along with the garlic pods and fenugreek seeds with 2 cups water. Open the cooker and smash the rice with a ladle adding little salt. Now add 2 cups of coconut milk and dilute accordingly.
Serve warm. If using it later, more coconut milk or warm water can be used.
Being a healthy breakfast it’s also very tasty.
